Entrepreneur quotes from high achievers. Many leaders say they’re born this way. But the truth is that they are driven by passion and a desire to achieve greatness while working hard with a well-developed strategy.
However, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t feel pressured and occasionally thought about quitting.
Stepping foot in the industry for the first time and trying to make an impact is scary and overwhelming. To be successful, one must constantly improve their skills and learn about the latest trends and diverse approaches.
Anyone can use the helping hand of the internet today and see how highly successful entrepreneurs made their empires.
They share their experiences to ease the corporate path for newcomers, so let’s take a look at what it takes to go from zero to the entrepreneurial powerhouse.
1. Bill Gates
“It’s fine to celebrate success, but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.”
Bill Gates had a fair share of luck on his incredible journey. But it takes more than a stroke of luck to be a futuristic inventor. Entrepreneurs must also believe in their revolutionary ideas when everyone else thinks they have simply gone mad.
That is what happened when Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer traveled around the US to talk about how graphic interfaces are the operating systems of the future. In the early 80s, they attended a lot of seminars. But no one believed in this idea.
Even computer companies told them that this operating system would be too slow, and difficult to write software for. Imagine their disappointment when Microsoft announced in 1983 that it was developing Windows.
In 1984, Apple launched Macintosh, which became a huge success and a game-changer. Only then did people realize the potential of a graphical user interface, and in 1985 Microsoft was finally able to release Windows 1.0. They succeeded in 1990 with their graphical operating system Windows 3.0, which sold over 10 million units in two years.
Bill Gates’ ideas predicted so much more than this. He also believed that the internet would become more widespread, in a time when only dial-up connections existed. He managed to convince his team, and Internet Explorer was born.
2. Steve Jobs
“People with passion can change the world for the better”
There is not a single aspect of our lives that hasn’t been touched by the power of Steve Jobs’ vision. Apart from his incredible creativity and skill to connect the dots, he had the ability to inspire others with his speeches.
This is a great lesson for entrepreneurs, as they have to be capable of sharing their ideas and persuading others to believe in them as well.
It wasn’t always so simple for Jobs. He would change jobs several times until he discovered what he really wanted to do in life.
Once he had discovered his passion, he created a plan and went on to study different fields such as design and hospitality in order to get new ideas.
When he returned to Apple, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Jobs then reduced their 350 products to 10 and turned the company around.
The main lesson here is to get outside of the bubble and explore new ideas because, after all, entrepreneurs sell dreams, not a finished product.
3. Neil Patel
“In the end, you always have to rely on the numbers, quantitative and qualitative. Everyone is data driven.”
Patel is a popular internet entrepreneur and co-author of Hustle: The Power to Change Your Life with Money, Meaning, and Momentum.
Though he didn’t have many resources, he successfully built a strong network and was one of the 100 most brilliant companies in the world.
How did he do it?
According to the Forbes interview with Patel, he thinks the key is to get clarity on what you want to become, and pursue this goal with flexibility and curiosity.
New entrepreneurs shouldn’t be afraid to work on challenging projects, as they are the ones that ensure prosperity and personal growth through learning.
He says, “The right path, the way we define hustle, is a series of moves both inside companies and outside of them as entrepreneurs. It’s very fluid and there’s constant movement and momentum building along the way.”
4. Mark Zuckerberg
“The eureka moment is a lie”
Most people reading this have probably watched the movie ‘Social Network’, and learned all about how Zuckerberg succeeded in creating the most popular social network. However, entrepreneurs can learn more from his numerous inspiring speeches.
Zuckerberg says no one really knows how an idea will work out, people just need to start working on it. He recognizes the challenges that determined and inventive entrepreneurs will face along the way, but he thinks the greatest success comes exactly from the liberty to fail.
He continues to inspire and give advice to newbies, claiming, ”In our society, we often don’t do big things because we’re so afraid of making mistakes that we ignore all the things wrong today if we do nothing. The reality is, that anything we do will have issues in the future. But that can’t keep us from starting.”
The crucial lessons we can learn are to find our passion, never stop learning, get creative, and don’t fear failure.
These four points are what turn a good entrepreneur into a world-famous leader. Anyone who truly believes in their purpose, and works hard to achieve their goals, has the power to succeed and shape the future.
